Our Western University chapter is led by an executive team of graduate students with a diverse set of consulting and industry experiences.
Tim is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology and a foundingmember of the Western chapter. His research focuses on the development of naturalbiomaterials to regenerate subcutaneous fat tissue. Prior to UCG, he served as the director of business development at Nspire Innovations Network, a NFP at the interface of science and business. Tim is deeply passionate about leveraging innovation to accelerate impact for NFP.
Devin is a PhD Candidate in the Department Chemical and Biochemical Engineering focusing on advanced nano-composite materials for energy and agricultural applications. He is the current President of the Graduate Engineering Society at Western and is active in developing professional development opportunities for students in his faculty. Devin has previously worked with the Terry Fox Foundation and has a passion for optimizing the impact of the non-profit sector.
Chris is a Master’s candidate in the School of Biomedical Engineering at Western University, where his research focuses on the development of novel regenerative medicine therapies. He strongly believes in community outreach and is an active contributor to the annual Stem Cell Talks meeting hosted by Western University, a symposium dedicated to teaching local high school students stem cell concepts and applications.Chrisis highly passionate about social impact and is excited to apply Western’s local student talent to the Canadian non-profit sector.
Oleksiy is a PhD candidate at Western University focusing on simulation-based training in neurosurgery. His research and undergraduate teaching experience drive his passion for innovation and policy development in public education, health services and medical devices. As an avid supporter of sustainable transportation, heis earnest in prioritizing its value in urban growth and development. Oleksiy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences (BSc) and a Master’s in Clinical Anatomy (MSc).
Denise is a PhD candidate at Western University in the School of Kinesiology. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and a Master’s in Sport Management. Her previous experiences include Marketing Manager of a pharmaceutical distributor; Project Manager of a research institution; and Professional Athlete Representative. These have all contributed to her commitment to leveraging athletes’ platforms towards health promotion and social enterprise. Denise is passionate about building the philanthropic brands of individuals. She aims to equip them with the opportunities and expertise, required to meaningfully impact the communities that they are passionate about.
